Product Description

Diamond picks are ideal when you encounter continuous hard rock conditions or dense coal seams that traditional tools can't handle. Our PDC diamond pick is designed for the toughest professionals who need the highest durability and performance. We combine innovation with comfort by designing a diamond pick that makes difficult digging feel effortless.

Specifications | Product Description
Here at PDCools, we let our products do the talking. Every material used in our PDC diamond pick is chosen to outlast any underground condition.

  • PDC Cutter Head | Made of high quality Polycrystalline Diamond Compact (PDC) created through a high temperature/high pressure (HTHP) process.
  • Shank/Handle | Molybdenum nickel alloy steel.
  • Material Strength | High Tensile Strength, Excellent Toughness, and Deep Hardenability.
  • Conductivity | Allows extremely quick transfer of heat away from the cutter to prevent damage from excessive friction while operating at high speeds.

Product Features | Benefits
PDC stands for polycrystalline diamond. But what does that really mean for you?

  • Extreme Wear-Resistance

A diamond like textured face that keeps its sharp edge much longer than traditional materials.

  • Lifetime 8x Longer Than Steel

Traditional tungsten carbide picks will need frequent replacing. Our PDC diamond picks are 8x stronger, meaning less time spent on "tool- change".

  • Impact & Corrosion Resistant

While the tough Moly Nickel alloy shovel won't crack or chip from heavy impact, the PDC face is chemically inert against most minerals.

  • Value Engineering

Yes, our picks are more expensive than traditional tungsten carbide. However, they don't need to be replaced as often which equates to HUGE labor savings.

Applications
Diamond picks are used as the "sharpened teeth" on some of the strongest equipment around. Our picks are compatible with:

  • Coal Mining | Ideal for cutting through hard coal seams and tunneling.
  • Milling/Asphalt Removal | Highly effective in highway milling applications.
  • Rotary Drill Rigs | Capable of cutting through anything your rotary drill rig throws at it.
  • Double-Milling Cutters | Great for ripping through hard rock or mixed ground.

Manufacturing | Custom Options
we take pride in our manufacturing process. Each PDC diamond cutter is brazed to the shovel ensuring that they will never separate, even under tremendous heat.
Custom Options: We offer custom sizing for shank diameter, head shape, and PDC type.

FAQ

Q: Can I use the PDC on very abrasive rock like sandstone?

A: Yes! That's what PDC is made for. While tungsten carbide will wear down, PDC can take on the most abrasive conditions.

Q: Do these picks need any type of special cooling system?

A: While PDCs do conduct heat very well, we suggest using a water-mist to cool the pick just like you would on most mining and road milling machines.

Q: How does using a sharper pick help my machine?

A: Increasing the hardness of the material you are cutting with reduces the amount of wear and tear your going to send up hole. Less vibration/backlash can mean longer life for your machine's motor and gearbox.
